Seminar speakers are recruited from industry, academia as well as government. (DEB requirement).       2.   MIC 292 (From Discovery to Product: An Introduction to Biotechnology at the Industrial Level - a joint project with Novozymes Biotech, Inc.). DEB elective.

2000 - 2003	Co-principal Investigator for the NSF-ATE grant: Tools to Teach Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics to Community College Teachers (DUE-0053291). Co-developed the bioinformatics course.
1999 - present	Coordinate the summer Biotechnology Short Courses for graduate students, faculty, post-doctoral scholars, technical staff and industry. Courses offered: Advanced PCR Techniques, Proteomics, Introduction to Bioinformatics and DNA Microarray Analysis
1999 - present	Program Coordinator for the Designated Emphasis of Biotechnology (DEB ) graduate program. The Biotechnology Program is the administrative home for the DEB program. Website: www.deb.ucdavis.edu. Mentor close to 70 graduate students and assist them in locating three-six month research internships in various biotechnology companies or government laboratories (MCB 282 internship is a DEB requirement).
